Snow

·Ilse

Snow, let it not be A rush to the overcrowded gathering of all Where the spirit as it’s known Gets crushed between the chaos And lets each and one but fall Snow, let it not be A chore because it’s there Let it be an opportunity To receive, and be received For once it melts, there’s not much left to share And even though it will again Return to you and become anew It will never be the same Snow, let it be A memory of the simplicity of life Also the complicated state it could be Have I looked at it another way Snow, let it be A reminder how something so beautiful and soft Could send chills down my spine How its presence at the same time Creates warmth and comfort As I pull the covers over me And share that special moment With that special someone With that special me Snow, let it be That time of the year When things that have begun can end And things that could not end begin A memory of a broken heart And a glimpse of a fresh start Snow, as all things natural Let it be Ilse
