So here I stand...

·sorrow

So here I stand, soaking in the blood of darkness, I am the void and the vessel, the broken carcass, To find a truth in times like these, Would only confirm those sick beliefs, Time, time, time I cry, echo my screams, But she turns her scale ridden back upon my dreams, Her cold claws forever stroking my heart, Illusions only that, and doomed from the start, A touch, a sigh, a frozen tear, To taste the demons of an ancient fear, Reflections in empty mirrors, shards of broken beams, Curse the days, the weeks, the years, the jaded streams, Within the castle walls I never wore that tainted crown, But rather jest and dance, the idiot, the clown, With days now darker and nights so fair, Innocence is drained by their unforgiving stare, The pressure, the weight, the load and no reward, They push and pull and judge across the board, But silence my friend and solitude my guide, Into another skin my broken spirit does slide.
