So I sat and watched her steal my smilePart2
So I sat and watched her steal my smile (follow on from May I sit and watch you for a while) 30/1/2006 Frozen. Though the night’s breeze was warm. My chest rose and a staccato breath escaped, The familiar breath of a long night of uncontrollable soul wrenching tears. But there were no tears. Crushed. The pain seeped through me, Through to my fingertips where it tried to escape, fighting below my skin. Now shaking hands reached for a cigarette. Breathe escaping in staccato waves. Stabbing. Her voice teasingly in my ear, My eyes dropped to the floor, I can’t look at you right now. Arbitrary words came slurring from her lips, Lips I never tasted, soiled lips. Aching. So she’d untangled herself from ‘the ugly one’ Her words. I had to leave, I had to get out…but I couldn’t escape her Mechanically I unlocked her door. Slicing. Still arbitrary slurs I couldn’t listen, I couldn’t speak. Holding on to the splintered pieces scraping inside of me. She doesn’t feel. Numbing. ‘She means nothing to me’ That’s nice to know. ‘You’re to valuable to me, my friend, if we were a couple I’d hurt you.’ Thanks for saving me the pain. Cold. Trust requires honesty. She’s safely home…I shut the door softly, hardened by you much Just to know you have no answers and now neither of us in love believe Now I know it’s time for me to leave. Crushed by your soul Frozen by your sight Cut by your words Tortured by your scent What was was As it was meant.
