So Soft!

So soft! The mercy found before the Lord Like winter's wool wrapped tight within His hands Laid down at night by candle light and fire To warm the souls who burn to know his plans. So soft! The girl I wish to make my bride Whose heart I court with sentimental prose And I in turn have heard her yearn for mine, Reciting favorite pieces I've composed. In step we walk, converging towards our King Towards love our flesh alone could never know But brought to faith it moves beyond ourselves To radiate His passions as we grow So let us face our burdens as they come, Resolved to bear each grief with dignity And be so bold, as we grow old to say So soft! A love that's lasting and carefree.
