Social Distancing...

"Social Distancing." It is today's term, really, a form of isolation... though yes, medically necessary. But quietude, aloneness, has long been known - it is the realm of contemplatives, and mystics a Muse of artists, and philosophers and a portal to the divine for many monks, seekers... For the prisoner, solitary is punishment... though for everyone, it can be an opportunity to reach inward, to regroup, recharge and reflect. A time to slow down and ponder existentialist abstracts like " meaning" and " purpose." Stripped down to the bare essentials we must learn transcendence- to lean on that sustaining trio memory, imagination and hope with these we can plan and aspire- holding on to the mantra " When this is all over..."
