Resistance- the word resonates while causes spring up like mushrooms after the rain. And now we have hash tag this and that, the "Me too," movement, and although I support justice for all- emphasize the word "all," meaning not just for celebrities and athletes -the prominent (those who can access the media and hire attorneys.) but- justice too, for the victims who are: mentally ill, or homeless for women inmates and enlisted personnel -the ones at the hands of: guards, NCOs officers -let's not be indifferent to their pain. (Though somehow there's still a silence.) And it's said "There is nothing new under the sun." But this "new" (though all too old) political climate of finger-pointing an "us" vs. "them" mentality like ignorant tribalism- pack dogs scavenging, marking territory, turf- This all needs to end. And we must have reason to celebrate together, as the late poet, Lucille Clifton said, "Every day something has tried to kill me but failed." We need an enlightenment, an embarking unto an entirely different direction- like the Beatles sang, "Love is all you need."
