Solid Ground

A new chapter of my life has begun And for once I don't want to run What lies ahead, I do not know But I see a million opportunities to learn and grow Are things easier or am I just stronger than I realised? Perhaps I'm seeing the world through someone else's eyes This isn't like me, I'm usually so full of despair But now I'm so full of the hope that was once so rare Even in the darkest corners I see something bright The sun continues shining through the darkest night The sorrow that once settled around me like a velvet cloud Has lifted and I'm standing on solid ground
