Something New

My dad once said, "try something new, a thing that you are not used to." I replied "well why don't you, discover something new to do" He said to me "because I'm old, my talent pool has since grown cold" Then I said "so break the mould, not all your stories have been told" He answered "let's collaborate, before the time gets on too late" I questioned "what is this new fate, that you suggest on a random date" He turned and whispered "you should write, after all, you're very bright" I shook my head "no not tonight, and after all my writing's..." "Excellent, and should be shared, even if you aren't prepared" I hugged him "you know I get scared, of how it will be close compared" He pulled back "what does that matter, opinions people love to scatter" I stared at him "that's true, the latter, people really like to chatter" He sat back down "my part is done, and I admit it was quite fun" I asked, "what have you begun, that smile, what trophy has been won?" He beamed "I got my girl to listen, and compose her first edition" I sighed "I'll write, but what's the vision, something new or old tradition?" He simply said, "this conversation, share it out across the nation!" I countered "the population? want to hear this information?" He smiled again, "you needed to, others might just need it too, and if it turns out that they do, they also might try something new"
