Somhairle / Sorley

·Eabann

Somhairle Dh’ fhàg thu dhuinn ur bhàrdachd, ’S e làn le iomadh cumhachd, A thagh dà shaoghal rin cèile Mar rathad a’ ruith thar falachd. Agus fhathast air mi gar leughadh, Fairich mi dùbailteachd ur làimhe; Agus tha gach facal dhomhsa Cho fìor ri briseadh cnàimhe. Sorley You left for us your legacy In its finite infinity, That drew two worlds together, Like a tunnel beneath the sea. And still when I read you, I feel the duality of all you’d known; And every word is to me As true as the breaking of a bone..
