Sonnet for my Tuesday girl

She wanders through my mind at every turn, Her smile, her eyes, the softness of her voice Each cause my heart to flutter, pine and yearn, In passion born therein by love's sweet choice. Let linger so awhile such tender thought, As longing reaches out, a kiln's fierce heat. Be patience stretched out thin and cruely taut Its steely strength must last 'til Tuesday's treat. And thus we have the torture of the hour, Held fast through lust and amour's silken grip, An ocean's might can never hope to sour Keen bonds as 'twixt an anchor and its ship. Unduly long a fortnight oft does seem; Endurance proves its worth in love's regime.
