Sorrow Wanders Among Dreams
Peer into the closet of life Full of neatly arranged expectations The price tag still on several unused dreams Fear of rejection Worn down on both heels Few possessions not in their proper place Regret takes up a lot of room Scowls announce his irritation Maybe she is angry too The broken cabinet remains Another year is lost Life mocks youthful hopes Temptation whispers her name Glancing across the abyss of indifference She sees ambition rotted Disappointment presses him heavily onto the sofa Flickering TV light numbing their thoughts Tethered to a colorless existence Yet she still tries to fly away now and then When hope is fleeting * revised recently
