Soul of summer
In the soul of summer What can I say What can I reveal That hasn't been a thousand times Whispering in the dark eddies travelling through my mind Don't hurt... be kind, don't anger... show compassion, don't fear... be brave, Don't stop... just keep on going. Going... in this grey barren landscape Picture the sun rising one more time, The glistening dewdrops throw rainbows Amongst silky spider strands And I sit wondering why the rain keeps falling. Falling... into silver fountains against the skin Like the teardrops have so many times. Yes, so many times before. Yet, they don't just stop when the clouds have long since parted. And I feel cold. cold inside. Drifting on many plains. Hoping the dreams aren't ending. Wishing for silence and solitude To find peace inside. In the soul of summer. What can I say What did I conceal. From myself a thousand times Another sunset fills the horizon and the darkness is stalking in. In the memories of beauty and this golden land of living. Say you know. Say I told you so. In the spirit of being. Of being complete.. In the soul of summer I died and yet still live, How heaven was a moment left incomplete And hell beats down every street shouting.
