Special Wish (late Santa poem)

Oh Santa, I am glad you exist, Seconds ago I heard your sleigh’s swish. Though, I know you got a very long list, This Christmas I have a special wish. I’m watching the flakes peacefully fall, Effortlessly gliding, falling so free. And despite being so fragile and small, They smile and seem happy just to be. I reached outside with my bare hand Patiently hoping to catch one or two, So that finally, I too, can understand Where went the happiness I once knew. I just wish to be happy like the flake, Even if I have to become one of them. Yes, I know my very life is at stake, But my hearts sadness, I truly condemn. Now, I will not stay awake to wait for you, But anxiously dream of early bright, So please make my wish come true, And let it come with the morning light.
