Spellbound

·TheNightShift

There have been so many years passed Since we were one and love was blind Entwined together in our passion And you have never left my mind Yesterday as I went walking In the gloomy and torpid town I saw your figure approaching And I was spellbound My mind was filled with memories Of when we walked in fields of gold Laughing just like two young children Never thinking we would grow old All at once there you were again My heart began to race and pound Then you stopped and you smiled at me And I was spellbound You said ‘hello’ and kissed my cheek Looked at me in that special way We engaged in some trivial chat I could not think of what to say I watched as you were departing Hoping that you would turn around You looked back over your shoulder And I was spellbound We gazed at each other for some time Communicating with our eyes A tear was running down your cheek You once said that love never dies I closed my eyes and prayed so hard That your heart had forgiveness found I opened them and you were gone And I was spellbound
