Spiritual Emptiness

This longing inside, is of such a nature that I could compare it to a state of spiritual emptiness. Pleased only by excessive abuse and total neglect for ones own self. Living for one day only, today, as if the next morning will never come. Let us stay up another hour, let us have one more. One more old friend, and I will feel nothing more, one more and the night becomes younger, and I can remember, remember when it all started. This longing inside, strong persistent yearning or desire, especially one that cannot be fulfilled... Not of my own words, but still to the point. This longing beating in my heart, a yearning for the answers, for the right choices, strength, be courageous, be strong, be someone unique, an architect or an astronaut. A drunk around a camp fire, perhaps Only pleased by recognition, to try and convince ones own mind. I call it shallow, am I? Perhaps the longing will someday subside And I will be free
