Stale
“Stale” Under his wings lies her safety But inside, she’s torn and empty Bound by walls of unreal love and happiness Had a glimpse of romance at a distance Her feelings were tied down by pretence That’s how she feels in his presence Stale Possessed by the materialistic system of the world She clung to his riches although she bled, bled, bled Until she bled her entire hope, dreams and senses Regrets all the time she spent building castles………in the sky Unfulfilled wishes, ambitions and lost opportunities Make her feel stale All the money, jewellery and cars could not replace her pride She walks with her head high but shame lives by her side So much gained yet so many lost Good friends, family, live in her secret memory box All is at the palms of her hands but not his heart Continues to live in a fairytale And still feels stale…….
