Stand There

My heart broke As I watched you stand alone Your body shook, shivered As rain and lightning poured Your face looked confused, for a moment But you just stood there Unaware of your muddy feet Of your soaking wet hair, you stared Then and again, absent of the weather Your lips tingled, with a faint, distant smile But your dreams still dripped with the rain Hopes of being found, swallowed by the ground Your identity, and everything you were Washed away by the pounding sleet Slowly you faded, drifting away And my heart broke Because all I could do All I did do Was watch
