Time is short and there is nothing to say We can bar it none then make it useful Greatness is an aspiration we all have Whether for power or for beauty Feel that overwhelming pull It is a mind control that guides the heart But what else other than drama entertains us? You would like to break it down And crunch it into fine numbers But the meaning of life is fickle Time has no frame of reference No-one can claim that we are really here Yet, all is good and simple If you know who you are fighting Greatness comes in its ultimate form Where human life is Anything that matters to you Is either just like you or dead Some of us travel a long time To become an ancient child You would like to believe that there are secrets But there are none All there is Is you Let's give a hand to our business As a global society We live to talk about it Because that is what death tells us The oracle knows that you are coming She will ask you what worth is Did you find it along the byway? The point of the journey defeats itself in knowledge But for the wisdom gained none the less: "Don't ignore their existence." What you are after has nothing for you The most you could go for is yourself For what else is another but something like you? And so we go about milling for whatever Cuz it is grand fun, no? I mean, I like it, don't you? Pick a flower and communicate your intention Kill some bad-ass on a bridge Everything has its time and place And you were there once as well A drunken mess besides yourself Wanting to escape while looking for nothing But it is a power trip What carries you feels real And all that is left is gone now When you see that nothing else matters You become lost in space You finally come Home by hugging And loved most for losing
