Stay

·Mayhems Maiden

I tried to keep you believing, I tried to quell your fear your demeanour so decieving, you kept it all in here I could not carry you alone, or for that matter anyone else how can I play God and save the world when I can't even help myself You know I always loved you, and you know I'll always care even if you can never again answer me, please hold that truth in there I feel your pulse rate slow down, you havent got much longer cradling you in the winter rain, this pain is growing stronger I hear sirens approaching, this is ending all so wrong holding you close I whisper "I love you, please stay with me... hold on" They say every energy, every life force eventually expires they wouldnt let me touch you, while you were still adorned by wires the ventilator stood to the side almost apologetic for its presence though you were gone, remained kinetic sensation of your essence and I loved you even more in death that I had when you were living I held you tighter was more understanding and even forgiving I kissed your forehead, your skin cold your body still I must return now to the breathing world, but I dont know if I ever will I want to remain here with you, keep this moment in suspended animation as though by some miracle it will hold off the impending devastation yourhand outside the blanket, I'll remember holding it forever the night that you died was the first and last we'll ever spend together Stay.
