The finishing school gave her an edge; she orders mellifluously, tips her gilt menu to the waiter, sips, gulps, leans back on the hard ledge - Her voice is pure Chelsea, ex-pat silk colonial woman of hot sand and airy travel; her frosted hand is white with jewels and pale as milk and heavy with affairs, mentioned quick as a job title –adulteress.
