Still Here

·CuldeSac

The factory stands abandoned in the lot Though just like me it still listens to the music Breaking through the unkept canopy aloof The late afternoon sun peers through to touch Landing the shadows my ribs now cast And some down covering my innards The once busy place rests like Mars There are no skeletons in its closet For the ghosts it has are at rest The wind wisps past fast corners into my places Where once was of great import each room designated Now here where the forlorn wailing of the banshee ensues It leaves itself behind in the wake of its pull For those who have a name that would come and walk Inside of me once again where I have become rusted All of the parts inside of me no more will turn Basking away in the setting of the sun I Look up and away to the other part of the sky Of one where I will be transformed by nightfall Where my city will sleep loving me unknowingly
