Still Holding On
You lost me, could you feel me slip away, You never pulled me back, didn’t ask me “stay”, Did you notice my eyes change, did you care, Oh what it took to walk from someone so fair, Now darkness has fallen over the land, As I stand with my heart in my hand, Your perfect picture still embedded, With your kiss my soul still infected, How do I fill this aching hole within? An urge to throw myself to a life of sin, What could banish these oceans of pain? Loss of my morals would leave me insane, Your beauty, within, without, unrivalled, So many secrets in each other confided, Friend, lover, companion, have I lost all? In dark and in light I heeded your call, You lost me, is how I lie to myself, I have walked away, is how I fool myself, For you will have me, forever, And I’ll stop loving you never.
