Still Loves
Overtaken by the past. Mistakes were manifested. Outlook turned ruins. Hours, days, months gone, Into meaningless objects. And now, you gone too. A war now waged, Seems so futile. Every tactic employed, Drives you further. But to not fight... Or is nothing left to do? Beginning to fathom, This isolated existence. Lone days crush resolve, Left writhing to sleep. Hanging on your words, If words could be heard. Our former life botched. Unmindful to affection. Provisions of the past, Sustenance of love. Memories of follies, Ribbon the spirit. The mind still knows, All it has done wrong. The body still remembers, Embracing what is gone. The shattered heart still feels, Still loves what it lost.
