Stranded - 2002

It’s in sight, but can’t be reached Seems like everyone has it but me Where does it come from? Why can’t I touch it, taste it or feel it? I am afraid for this is all I’ve known Watching others pass me by as well How can I grow to grasp what I desire? It has no price, nothing in return Happiness holds no place for me Although I long for it and crave it I know I’m stranded far away A life with sadness, misery, guilt Happiness is not for me If it were, why can’t I reach? Instead I’ll drown in my sorrows Watching them pass round and round To want and long to be in love Is what fills my dreams when eyes close Someone who cares, even a little Likes to show me I’m special Good enough to be here
