Strings of life

I listened to the rhythm of your heart, to hear your suffering I saw through your smile to read the agony buried deep within I contemplated endlessly about the future that has become history Tentatively I searched for the root as the leaves fell off this tree The marks you left still remained a landmark in my heart, my misery I listened for your voice in the dark, I listened …I listened I called for you at dawn and whispered daringly at sunset I serenaded in candlelight with hope in my heart Time had become a mandate the soul had yet to serve. I had become a slave of my thoughts I wrote your name in my dreams and woke up smiling I had a beautiful day yesterday…yesterday I listened Today I suffer the pain of losing you, rest in peace my dear friend I listen…I listen…I listen for your voice to bring me life My heart has been crumbled into pieces Tears rolling down my face I can’t run this race I rest my case
