Such foolishness...

I never wanted to own your heart Such foolishness was never advised But, give me some small hope That a piece of you will attach itself Anatomically, if not metaphorically Without a piece of your heart mine will surely die. I just can’t live without you by my side. Why is it ever more complex than what we hold inside? Your shoulder is glowing Warm in morning rays of sun shining in on my bed. But I lie trapped in my own cold feverish head. You can’ see the sickness inside From that turned shoulder, your own cold gaze, One less kiss, one less embrace and this sickness wills it I’m dying from your lack of grace, A little less shine with every hour misplaced My head hits the floor, and I know without looking That your no more moved Than the stone cobbles outside the front door As I lay there cooing indecipherably A babe’s naivety I can only achieve A beast’s fridgility only you could manage Just don’t ask either of us to care Don’t ask the daylight to fix what was made In the darkness… Such foolishness was never advised.
