Sundress
Running ailmlessly through the grass, Barefeet treading soft. Flowers behind us as we pass, Holding eachother lightly as we coughed From the dandelions in the air. Touching the flower imprint on your dress Laughing free without a care, Slightly nervous as you press Your hips against mine, While we lay in a field. I see-- as our legs intertwine-- Sunlight bouncing off dew, creates a shield To protect us from the outside. Rain comes and our clothes cling To bodies we are unable to hide. Quick drops don't sting As we run to shelter under a tree. There we sit and smile bright Until the rain passes to let us be. There we sit and I hold you tight, Your body warm against mine. My hand moves up to caress A face that holds eyes that shine As we laugh at the flowers on your sundress.
