Swan Song
The twilight Is fading as the sun falls from the sky The moonlight Is shining on the rippling lake nearby The west wind Is whistling through the weeping willow trees The night hawk Is hanging high upon the thermal breeze The barn owl Is welcoming the fast approaching night The raindrops Are tears of liquid silver jewelled light The white swan He looks with dying eyes towards the sky The death song He is singing to his love and says goodbye The sadness He lays his snow white head upon the ground The silence It echoes from the woodlands all around
