Tethered to Reality

Come! an adventure awaits. a trip to a place called Reality. it is not very far--or very near; this place of which I speak. relax and abandon every fear. I will reveal all which you seek. Behold! exit the dream into Reality. I hope you enjoyed the flight. expect no answers from me, I provide only the means for sight. so cast the looking glass from your eye and mute your mind so you might hear, the surreptitious seconds ticking by and the passing of another year. look to the left and then look right, what you see is nothing new. the setting sun gives way to night shrouding all with its darkened hue. moonlit cooridors pale, slighting your impressionable eyes. you think you can see past the veil, but all you see are lies. through perpetual darkness you wander for haze has dimmed the moon. my words cause comfort no longer. please sun, rise up soon! but rise the sun will not for Reality is always dark. no useful tools have you brought for the trip on which you embark. Alas! the brochures were all amiss, this trip, not worth the fee. falling farther into the abyss of this appalling and sullen sea. the ticket purchased was for one way. the return trip impossible to make. forever trapped in this perpetual melee. Oh what a grave mistake! you are so, so far from free, hopelessly tethered to Reality.
