as the dragon flew up high through the dark and starless sky it looked down at the earth below at a field where lilies grow it circled, slowly touching down on the chosen battleground searching 'round for its' prey before the coming of the day it saw him then, coming near with a shield, sword and spear without pause he came on to slay the beast, 'n with it be done they faced each other there and then knowing it would soon begin a battle fierce with blood and tears that had been fought for countless years 'tween the might of ill and good that had since birth their whole lives ruled the man struck first sword held high slicing through pitch-black sky the dragon dodged and whipped its' tail but the first attack of both had failed they circled then, 'round each other like a mortal dance of lovers a feint A STRIKE! he'd almost missed but this time the blade had kissed the dragons' wing as he turned and in it’s wound the poison burned t’was fatal, though had not yet through the dragons' body spread and so, with only one chance left he'd send this mortal to its' death alas the poison'd done its' deed and slowed the mighty dragons' speed it roared out loud and lunged ahead and then, the man struck him dead
