The Believer
I leave the Bible by the bedside, and this I do not read. I have many opinions, though, And seeds of disbelief. "They indoctrinated me!" I cry, "From this I must be free!" I believe in Humanism and Evolution, Even though this I did not see! Don't preach me about the Truth, For I cannot stand the sound, I like the way I live, To my habits I will be bound! I don't believe in worship! Brad Pitt is on my wall, The call of wine I can't resist, My home is in the mall! I think not on Death, I'm sure it will be fine. This years on Earth is all we got, With the Devil, I will dine. My beliefs I've sewn together, And reliable sources they are: Friends, The Beatles and media, And the constellation of Superstars! I cannot sleep, I'm filled with fear, And everything goes wrong. I do not know joy or peace, This is my Hellish song!
