The Best Decision

The best decision that I made Throughout my thirty years of life Was to walk down that church aisle And become your devoted wife. To wear that white and dreamy dress And at the altar stand by you As, hands entwined, we vowed to God To be faithful, loving, and true. The best decision happened when I let the others get away If not, I would be missing out On all I have with you today. God knew what He was doing when The first bonds he allowed to break He was preparing me for ties E’en better than my dreams could make. And I can gladly say today The disappointments and despairs The heartaches, questions, broken dreams Were really answers to my prayers. If I could make the choice again Your hand once more I’d choose to hold And it’s with you I’d ever choose To build my life and to grow old. Life with you is so much better The tears are less, the smiles more The sun more bright, the skies more blue I’m more complete than times before. I know God knew just what I’d need And He knew just what to do Somehow He made our paths to cross And gave to me the gift of you.
