The Breeze, She Whispers
The Breeze, She Whispers A gentle breeze whispers through silver birch leaves she ripples on the deep teal lake flowing her way into bankside reeds and ferns interweaving like a lovers embrace With heavy sigh she bristles over grassy knolls into meadows boasting blooms of buttercups and daisies her movement stirring butterflies dancing in the sunlight In the distance sheer cliffs of white rising high like catatonic sentries guarding over an old abandoned quarry Blustering onwards she approaches rusting metal gated fencing still bearing their warning Private! Keep Out! Danger! Members of the Public not Permitted! She breathes between the chainlink panels and rakes her way gently kissing pigmented chalky dust left behind from long past mining of precious lodes A moment she lingers as if searching for something lost to time Swirling on her way the giant rock faces looming standing mighty and judgemental of the human blasted, scarred quarry Without fear, a gentle breeze blows caressing her way up natures sentinels and whispers upon their summit DGMC 13.07.2011
