The Challenge
how is it you ended up, over there across that great divide, of time, of land and space and now that I'm aware, there is no one else who could ever take your place oh! how they try with words so sweet promises of bliss and tasty treats, seductive plans of extraordinary means and yet, they pale. next to what I know of you next to any thought, it's true how can I explain this attraction of our souls the fire builds each time we speak it knows no end and flames ahead consuming lesser foils, leaving them stone, cold dead. without a chance without a prayer, they fade against your brilliance seen and blow away with the morning breeze toward that distant span of no return, what are we to do? the challenge waits, anticipates with a knowing smile ...
