The Chronicles Of Crystal Black Pt. I

These days it seems as though Crystal has been leading a normal life But there is still many things that we don’t know That still trouble her at night Every day she sits in the corner of her dorm room Staring at old photos of her dad That brought back many memories Of all the good times they had Then reality hit her and she painfully remembered That he tragically died of lung cancer Because he smoked a lot of cigarettes and Every now and then she’d interrogate God for the answers It seemed like it was only yesterday That she was standing in the pouring rain With an umbrella over her head and a veil over her face Shedding tears of emotionally excruciating pain Words of sorrow escaped everyone’s lips Only to break each other’s hearts Tossing black rose petals on top of the casket Trying desperately not to fall apart Tears shed from Crystal’s eyes And onto the picture frame For she missed her father terribly and Without him things just weren’t the same When she graduated from high school He was right there by her side When she was going away to university He was standing there waving goodbye He was the one that taught her to walk and crawl Sing her lullabies when she would cry He was a hard working man and he did all that he can To keep the family alive Now that he’s gone it’s time for Crystal to move on Time to start fresh on a clean slate Because one day she knows she’ll see her dad again At the entrance to Heaven’s gates By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
