The Concrete Rose
Within thee dark cave A small weed did grow A plant full of love A mistletoe It conquered the darkness And to all our surprise It shone its pure light No regret or demise And from this pure light A small rosebud rose Up from the earth Towards the mistletoe It broke through the concrete It blossomed, it bloomed It ached for some water To drink before ruined And at this rose The young Pan stopped by He piped a soft tune And looked at the sky He played of the flower Full of lust and compassion He played of the romance Only a rose could fashion He played a pure song That washed away dry fall And brought water to the rose Proving beauty conquers all
