The Crossing
Should we think this the end, my friend? Are there no more tales to hear of you, Will I wake to find you again? Is your soul dancing away from my eye, Or do I get to bid you a final goodbye? Will you linger a while with me, my friend? To steal farewell from unworthy ears, Can you save that song for me? Does the Cloaked One come for you alone, Or can I follow you by and by? Why do you answer not, my friend? Are my cries deafened against the mighty gate, And will it try and keep me out? If you won’t wake and return to me, Shall I follow you through to eternity?
