The Dance with Death

He beckons, And you entertain the dance. You flirt with him, But I am waiting, Without power. I want to shout, But I can't shout, That I want you here. I want you to promise You will not answer When he calls. But I have nothing And when he courts you And takes you He is death and will leave you to sleep. But if you hear me, And you can believe me That it's true, Joanna; I will show you friendship, And all the life you've loved. (In an Intensive Care Unit somewhereon28.02.09)
