THE DAY THE SKIES RAINED PEOPLE
THE DAY THE SKIES RAINED PEOPLE * I will never forget where I was that day sitting at my desk a day like any other day * The sky was as blue as a Robin's egg not a cloud in the sky when the heavens opened up * They fell with a thud The streets had no more room And the ones still in there would know their own tomb * The smell of the jet fuel as the ashes fell like snow The people all running with no where to go * Some ran to safety Where none could be found as bodies of thier co-workers littered the ground * They were sisters and brothers of someone somewhere. They were fathers and mothers of people who cared. * There were those who sat waiting patiently and as their day turned to night they waited in vain * They looked to find hope where there was none They were here one day and the next they were gone * People with their hair burned off People with one shoe While their eyes told the story of the horror they all knew * It is burned in my psyche like a constant reminder What kind of monster? What kind of monster? * Who in the Hell would do such a thing? In the name of religion and for what kind of GOD? * WordPlaya, September 9, 2009
