The Deformer of Lettering - Part 1
This is a performance poem that I've been wanting to complete for a while. It's about the memoirs of an old Sherlockesque character looking back on his greatest case. Please rate and give me reason to finish it. :) The title is actually: 'the man who conspired to deform the art of lettering' but I couldn't get the whole title in the allowed space. the man who conspired to deform the art of lettering he lay there lying all the while trying to convince us his fallacies were true and i must admit that if not for my wit they might have believed him too see, what had transpired is that this man was hired to commit a heinous crime but he was a criminal whose intellect was minimal and so, he got caught this time the tale is quite lengthy and i'm affraid my memory is not what it used to be so you'll have to accept the account as kept and now told by me let's see.... many years before in the city of New York there lived a bitter old man he had power and wealth but due to poor mental health he had devised an evil plan what he intended to do was take from me and you that which we hold dear: he intended to take language cut it up and harrangue it and make it sound horrible to the ear for he read a poem as a young man which he could not understand as he had no poetry in his soul and as he could not comprehend his peers laughed at him then and so, to take poetry from all was his goal!
