The Desert

Like powdered snow yet warm to touch, a vast expanse unfolds to us. Simmering in haze colours entertains our eyes, yet in the midst… …life untold has found a place to be. Butterflies bright and light flutter from flower to flower. Scattering their precious pollen anew around… …a lake of hope true blue. Yet silence permeates it all, as if we are the space invader. Elusive like a spider-web the image starts to fade, and I am saddened… …for desert lonely once more we find, voided as far as one can see.
