The Dragon Sleeps
Crouching on it's clawed feet, Scaly sides are gleaming, Leathery wings all folded, The Dragon it lies sleeping. Do not wake the Dragon Leaves it to it's dreams, Resist the urge to turn and flee, It is not as first it seems. Look closely at the dragon See it's nostrils flared, It's face is easy while it sleeps, Theres no reason to be scared. Can you see the Dragon, Or do you see the man, That lies within the scaly hide? See him, if you can. I can see the Dragon, I can see the man inside, And I know what happened, To make him run and hide. I can love the Dragon I see deep within his mind; And I know that he's not cruel But exceptionally kind.
