The essence of my life

I remember the first time I laid eyes on you Our first moments together Loving you with every second that passed Wishing that we would never be apart Hoping that you would love me just as I am The softness of your touch The way you told me that you ‘loved’ me so much The precious moments we spent together As if it would always last Now I stand before you Weak and helpless Wondering how things changed And if I was to blame Not wanting to believe that you are done with me Ending this chapter so abruptly You have decided to move on without me Only leaving fragments of my existence Barely breathing I try to accept my fate Knowing that I am unable to do anything about what is taking place So I leave you with this thought Hoping you will understand Wishing you will soften your heart Asking you to see my pain I stand alone in my sorrow Reaching my hand out to you Forgiveness is all I ask But will understand if you can’t I will try to pick up what I have left Try and move on even when I feel I can’t And years from now I will continue loving you As if we never were apart ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: It took me 2 minutes to write this & has absolutely nothing to do with my love life...so go easy on me with your comments.
