The Fear

This poem was inspired by LaurieB and her poem entitled "Sweet Sweet Addiction". Please read that before reading this. Thanks Laurie. the sun creeps through the window pane his heart begins to beat he would give an arm and leg to not get to his feet the dreaded day upon him his fear begins to rise but escape he can not no matter how he tries he lights a smoke but even that does not calm his nerves for if he flees he is aware the wrath it will incur and so he walks with buckling knees and gets into his car tears well up as despair’s tendrils wrap his heart and then at last he reaches it the lowest point in life for today is Saturday and shopping with the wife! (Removed 'now' before "upon" 2nd line 2nd stanza and 'of' before "wrath" 6th line 3rd stanza. Also, changed 'his' to 'the' wife)
