The Fence
The man with the golden smile, Truth in his eyes so blue Oh, how they seem to look for miles Though he claims, “they’re only for you” The man with the beautiful hands Brings flutter to my heart Capable of my every demand, Though relief sets in when we part. The man with understanding for me Even in my approaching madness Always saying I am the best I can be Changing a thing only brings sadness. When my mind feels like my heart For the men who brighten my life I feel like a puzzle, still apart I cannot overcome this strife! Eyes seeking answers, at every angle My heart beating, persisting I am home My mind cannot help but be entangled So perhaps it is best that I just be alone.
