The Forest
The expanse of nightfall echoes in my ears, the hollow noise interupts even the trees The branches move in the nights silent breath, acheing in its flight of leaves Midnight paints the forest in dark hues Moonlight toils through , spilling on decayed brush grinning kisses of light on the creaking wood Sheltered paths, abandoned Footprints long lifted away by the forests sighs The shuffles silenced in nights dark cloak of grace My empty forest comforts me Squeezes me in its quilt of leaves An escape for a few moments catch my breath, lingering thoughts silently pushing me to my knees Only for a few moments do I need my place then onward in the battle of day to day life
