The Gentle Breeze Now Rustles the Leaves
I feel a gentle breeze so cool that stirs the leaves above; I hear a distant call so soft - ‘Tis a collared dove. I smell the scent so fresh and sweet, of roses pink and red; I see the white and fluffy clouds, Through branches overhead. I close my eyes – I feel the sun - So warm upon my brow; My world so peaceful – relaxed it is, Let nothing disturb it now! A sudden shock – a chill I feel, The rooks in trees – surprise! They shatter the peace as home they come - So loud their shrieks and cries. And up I sit – so worried I am - Life’s no longer sane; With climate change and Brexit too, With COVID and Ukraine. What now? I ask for all who weep - The old, the homeless, and poor; The young, disabled, and Afghans who starve, What now? I ask. What more? At CuldeSac's Request.......!

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
