The Gifts You asked me why we offer gifts To family and friends There might be many reasons and Our motive all depends For instance, I’m no Christian Though I was raised to be I can’t pretend to be a king Of their Nativity But though I ceased believing I am not inclined to stop For Christmas is the time of year A woman loves to shop I’d never bother all year round If it was up to me But armed with lists I can’t resist That present buying spree And oh the fun of wrappings gifts Then labelling them with care The coloured bows, I’ve tons of those If you would like to share If I must pick one reason for This custom, to explain: It saves good wives from boredom So they do not go insane
