The Grape Vine

·Boffin

Confronting problems between sunsets As the waters of time ran through rivers of death It played by ear to ear before reaching its final destination... Me While the night died and invited the clouds We played against our skins until cracks occurred Those same cracks melted my entire heart Never forgetting that inside my head layed secrets Secrets that put ripples inside my bleeding eyes As you chizzled your fingers between mine Taking my palms and creating pillows for your cheeks And while your love bounced off mine we slept under the grape vine The grape vine that ran through the streets of dishonesty Meanwhile I tried building fires but their rain kept putting it out Formal greetings became tragic black, empty spaces Thats when the vine trapped you and I As I sheltered your beating heart you broke through Stealing the night from between their hands And as you awoke from this misery you stared at the rubble Because behind your eyes the darkness reigned So I still layed under the grape vine before it tortured me You searched for my remains before cutting it down While the skies cried out before the heavens As the cold wind ceised the very ground underneath We both layed beneath the souls before us And as we listened to them whisper The wine glasses clashed against eachother.
