THE GREAT EQUALIZER
THE GREAT EQUALIZER * When it comes to be It will come with a roar And it's not taking numbers It's coming for all * Not man over beast Nor the rich over poor It won't spare the kind Or pick young over old * Both greedy and needy sparing no famous names In the eyes of the equalizer they are all the same * The darkness will creep and cover the earth As cities grow dark the mountains erupt * A cross will not save you nor praying to Allah It's coming for all There's nothing you can do. * The seas will wash over the mainland scorched The winds will blow mighty as they follow their course * The cold will settle in after searing heat And many a man left Will be calling for repent * But your words are useless like forgotten lost prayers when the sound of the equalizer rains down on your skies * And after it is finished and after it is spent, The world will recover in it's own innocence. * Restoring the balance between heaven and earth, leveling the playing field between life and death. * It spared not the wealthy It spared not the lucky The ones left survived through their own ingenuity * Just like the earth who replenished itself They were spared to live on to write down their tales. * Yes, they will live on through their poetry and songs and tales of how the equalizer took the weak with the strong * WordPlaya, May 2009

I enjoy writing and since rediscovering the power of poetry, it has brought me much joy! My favorite poet is Richard Brautigan, and I am a big fan of freestyle poetry, as I find it less limiting and most creative. I also like spoken word poetry. ...
